Quench-Polish-Quench (QPQ)
Quench polish quench (QPQ) is a specialized type of nitrocarburizing case hardening that increases corrosion resistance. It is sometimes known by the brand name of Tufftride, Tenifer or Melonite
Some of the known benefits of QPQ:
- Improved corrosion resistance.
- Improved wear resistance.
- Improved fatigue resistance.
- Improved heat resistance.
- Reduced friction between moving parts.
Note:
Although Stainless Steel can be treated with QPQ, but the high treatment temperature of QPQ may cause the material to lose its corrosion resistance.
